Last Graduating Class Reaches New Milestone in Columbine Legacy

Freshman who attended Columbine during the tragedy in 1999 make their departure as seniors of this year’s graduating class of 2002. Many of the students of the remaining class connected with the Columbine shooting attended this year’s third anniversary memorial at Clement Park on April 20th. Among the speakers was a tearful Columbine Principal Frank DeAngelis who shared his reflections with Columbine’s students, faculty and civic leaders.

LFC Acquires Long Awaited 501 (c) (3) Status
by LFC News Staff

After nearly two years of delays in the preparation of necessary documentation in fulfillment the application process, LFC finally acquired 501(c)(3) status from the Internal Revenue Service early this year.

LFC was advised by its former attorneys, Holmes, Roberts and Owens (HRO), that all funds raised from LFC sales not be dispensed for charitable purposes in accordance with its mission statement until a ruling was made one way or the other on its nonprofit filing. The primary reason for reserving the funds was avoid any fiduciary problems that may have arisen had LFC not receive...
